Disney's Pandora - The world of Avatar now open

After the official opening ceremony on may 25th the newest addition to Dinsey's Animal Kingdom is set to open today to rave reviews.

Spot the celeb with amongst others John Landau, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, James Cameron and Bob Iger

Nestled in a newly developed area just off the main entrance to Animal Kingdom, Pandora's floating islands can already be seen from the parking lot.

The actual entrance is no less awe inspiring with the same floating islands towering over explorers and cleverly hiding ride buildings.

Pandora - The world of Avatar houses a number of attraction, shops and eateries

Satu’li Canteen is designed to look like the human facilities on Pandora. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is also the first location on Disney World property where you can order your food in advance using the mydisneyexperience app.

The main merchandise location is Windtraders. This is the place to get your Pandora themed clothing and toys. They also sell the collectible card kits and booster. 

Other offerings include a Kiosk called Pongu Pongu and face painting at Colors of Mo'ara.

The attractions

Avatar Flight of Passage launches each guest on an exhilarating, wind-in-your-face experience on a winged mountain banshee over the awe-inspiring world of Pandora. Guests will actually feel the banshee breathe beneath them as they soar through the forest and past floating mountains. What was a rite of passage for Na’vi in Cameron’s film becomes a multisensory experience for guests seeking the ultimate adventure – an encounter with the most feared predator of Pandora, the Great Leonopteryx. On the Na'vi River Journey guests travel down a sacred river deep into a bio luminescent rain forest. Aboard reed boats, they float past exotic glowing plants and Pandoran creatures into the midst of a musical Na’vi ceremony. The mystical journey culminates in an encounter with the breathtakingly realistic Na’vi Shaman of Songs who is deeply connected with Pandora’s life force and sends positive energy into the forest through her music. You can also explore the stunning area called the Valley of Mo'ara where you can hike on the moon of Pandora and experience all the spectacular flora and fauna from the film.
